Our museum café needs you!

Fleetwood Museum is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to oversee the day to day operations of our coffee house during the forthcoming season. The coffee house is open during the museum opening hours of 10.30am – 4pm Tuesday to Saturday and on Bank Holidays (April – end November).

The role includes taking the lead in the preparation and serving of light refreshments, hot and cold drinks and cakes to museum visitors. The successful volunteer applicant will be responsible (with support from the board of trustees and museum manager) for replenishing and rotating stock, ensuring that all working practices comply with Government advice on Food Hygiene and Safety, and for the training of other volunteer staff. The Coffee House is a valuable source of revenue for the museum and the successful volunteer will be expected to ensure that a high standard of presentation and cleanliness is maintained at all times.  Ideally you will have some previous experience of managing or working in a café environment.

We are also recruiting for more volunteers to help staff our coffee house. The role involves the preparation and serving of light refreshments, hot and cold drinks and cakes to museum visitors. Volunteers are expected to maintain a high standard of presentation and cleanliness throughout the coffee house area. Experience is not a problem as full training will be given. We operate a regular shift pattern of 3 hours morning and/or afternoon on 1 or 2 days a week to suit our volunteers.

If you enjoy being kept busy, love working in a cafe environment meeting and chatting with the public and can give a regular commitment then volunteering in our coffee house is for you!
